Verb conjugation of "anbauen" in German

My daugther was crying all night and we did not know why. We assume that she is getting into the terrible two age and wants to give us a hard time. We love her so much and do not get upset by that.
I think that subconsciously she means that her pregnancy has become a white eleph. But even though she compares her pregnancy with the large, grey animal a moment later she regrets it and says it.
