Verb conjugation of "beobachten" in German

The voyage ended finally. I packed my stuffed at around eight o'clock and hurried to the bus-terminal. I had little time left and was afraid that I would miss it and that I had to take the next one.
Anyway, once we arrived at the guest house the rules were explained: Washing my Jeans would be 2 dollars, a pair of socks 1 dollar and so on. I did not feel comfortable with these people.
We told the cabdriver the streetname we would like to go and he brought us there. This time the place did look like a three star hotel and we booked a night. I went to pay for the taxi ride.
