Verb conjugation of "conocer" in Spanish

I ordered a cab at four o'clock in the morning which took me to the Central Bus Station. I was much to early because the bus would go just at seven o'clock. Anyway I was sitting there and listening to music.
I visited a few churches near the center and decided to climb the mountains nearby, on which there were also churches. My intention was to get a good shot at the town from above, a bird view.
I visited the Hurricane watch center's website on a hourly basis hoping it would just go away, bt hurricane Ivan was on a direct path to Havana. It did not stop my vacation plans and I left the office.
