Verb conjugation of "speed" in English

My brother moved there last year. He met a woman and went after her. After six years they have broken up, but he no longer wanted to return, because he has settled down in his new home. I am visiting him once a year.
We have learned that some tenses, such as Present Tense are easier and not as complex as others. Is that right? In my opinion, tenses in English are much easier than in the Spanish language.
Tomorrow I have my test, so I have to practice a lot, but it should have started to study much earlier. I can only act under time pressure, I'm just like that... . I am 25 years old and I am married.
