All sorts of people were sitting in the restaurant, locals as well as foreigners. One could see that the city had some modern places too and that it was not the Vietnam we had imagined. The first thing he wanted to show us was a war memorial for Cambodia's civil war. The war has ended only few years earlier and was still very present in the mind of the entire population. Dinner was nothing special in this town and the restaurant wasn't either. Most waiters and the owner himself were more interested in Chile's qualifying soccer game than in their guests.
