At noon the oldest soon came home. He was a doctor and gave me some salt and other Cuban medicine. I was reluctant to swallow that stuff but the pain and the doctor's smile persuaded me in the end.
I tried to explain that I was preferring to eat with everybody together I that I preferred not to eat meat if they did not eat it either, for financial reasons. I thought that they understood my feelings.
We stayed there for a few hours observing the hugh ice blocks breaking off and falling into the icy waters leaving a water splash of over 100 meters. Each splash was followed by a dull thunder. |
