Spanish Dictionary

My parents were Italian, but the first language I learned was Spanish, since we lived in southern Spain. Very close to Gibraltar. When I was older, like twelve I moved with them back to Lucca in Italy.
I had never heard the phrase before. In America, there are also different idioms than here in England. It seems that the Americans say it differently than we do here in the United Kingdom.
Since when have you been learning Spanish? My children are not on Vocabulix, they are too small for it. We have no time for the normal day activities, and we are always on the move with the children.
