Direct Object Pronouns In Italian

Direct object pronouns can be used as the direct object of the sentence.
    They are:
    Mi (me)
    Ti (you)
    Lo/La (he/she/it)
    Ci (us)
    Vi (you)
    Li/Le (them)

Direct object pronouns can be positioned BEFORE the verb when they are followed by an indicative, subjunctive or conditional verb tense, but they are positioned AFTER the verb when an infinitive, imperative or gerund verb tense come first.
Noi mangiamo le verdure → Noi le mangiamo (We eat vegetables → We eat them)

Compro gli orecchini → Li compro (I buy the earrings → I buy them)

Porto Carlo al parco → Lo porto al parco (I'm taking Carlo to the park → I'm taking him to the park)

Alfredo beve l'acqua → Alfredo la beve (Alfredo drinks water → Alfredo drinks it)

Mamma ha chiamato me → Mamma mi ha chiamato (Mom called me)

La scuola vuole te → La scuola ti vuole (The school wants you)

Sonia ha invitato me e Anna alla festa → Sonia ci ha invitate alla festa (Sonia invited me and Anna to the party → Sonia invited us to the party)

Marco cercava te e tuo fratello → Marco vi cercava (Marco was looking for you and your brother → Marco was looking for you)

If the verb that follows the pronouns "lo" and "la" is "avere" (to have), an apostrophe replaces the vowel in both pronouns:
Ho adottato un cane → L'ho adottato (I adopted a dog → I adopted it)

    Ho trovato casa → L'ho trovata (I've found a house → I've found it)
